The Victory Garden

Using small-town Kansas as a backdrop, this World War II tale of 11-year-old Theresa, whose brother is at war, centers on a tomato-growing contest between the girl and her father and their neighbor, Mr. Burt. When Mr. Burt becomes ill, Theresa rallies her friends to maintain his garden.
