Smart Pot 7 Gallon: HY
Soft Sided Fabric Aeration Container. Welcome to the 21st century of growing! The SMART POT Is a better Growing Container Than a Plastic Pot "“ Much Better RELEASES HEAT "“ COOLER PLANTS GROW MORE QUICKLY AIR PRUNES FOR A BETTER ROOT STRUCTURE NO CIRCLING ROOTS AERATES ROOT ZONE DIFFICULT TO BLOW OVER ONE-PIECE FABRIC CONTAINER FOR EASY USE The Smart Pot® is a soft-sided aeration container that air root prunes your plants. Air root pruning is a key component to a healthy fibrous root ball. Unlike plastic containers, roots do not circle. Instead, air root pruning creates a more fibrous root structure with more root tips. More roots means quicker growth. No circling roots mean better growth. How It Works: The Smart Pot® aerates the container medium and air root prunes the plant"™s root structure. When roots reach the side of the bag, they do not circle as they do in a plastic container. Instead, the root tips stop and lateral root growth begins. As lateral root growth continues, a full fibrous root structure quickly develops, as opposed to the harmful root circling caused by plastic containers. Heat Release: Another key to better growth with Smart Pot® is heat release. Plastic containers trap and hold heat. The Smart Pot® is made of fabric that releases heat and aerates the root zone. Aeration allows evaporative cooling to occur in the container, extending the growth cycle. Do this simple test "“ place a temperature gage in your plastic pots on a sunny afternoon. Too hot for root growth! Now remove the plastic pot and find the 'hot side of the pot', the area that faced the sun. No root growth here. With the fabric Smart Pot, heat is released, the full container area is utilized, and better growth is the result. Intimate Contact With The Ground The Smart Pot® is strait sided, with no taper. It is more difficult to blow over than a plastic pot. It is a one-piece unit where the fabric bottom and sides work together to hold the plant in place. The fabric bottom contours to the undulations of the ground. A very limited number of small roots can penetrate into the ground to help anchor the plant. Limited root penetration into the ground also allows the plant to absorb moisture and nutrients that have passed through the container. Watering In The Smart Pot Watering needs in the Smart Pot® will be slightly different from plastic containers. Many customers find they water more in the first few months, then less compared to plastic containers after the plant has rooted into the Smart Pot®. Keep in mind that the Smart Pot® releases heat, helping conserve water. The mix used will also effect watering needs. What Mix To Use? The Smart Pot® is an aeration container. Because of full aeration, you can use a heavier mix or medium in the Smart Pot® than you might use in a plastic container. Some growers select a mix that has greater water retention capacity.
